I'm researching verbatim theatre at the moment as a theatre practitioner hoping to use the form to create a piece. I found the format of the book - a series of interviews and essays by those who have worked with the technique in their practice - interesting and inspirational. Definitely a keeper!
As well as Verbatim Theatre being the telling of true stories it is also theatre, and theatre needs to being engaging. To make an interesting piece of theatre you need material that is of interest to work with, which is why the interview process is a critical area of the verbatim theatre process.
